To be 100% truthful - I am here doing what I am doing - not because I wanted to. Life led me down this path after I lost my youngest son only a couple weeks before his 5th Birthday. His name is Lucas and he has an older brother Loudon. Loudon is the reason I keep pushing through, and my reason for trying to remain present. I miss my son every single day - but I need an outlet and something positive & healthy to keep me distracted from my grief and this life that I could never wish upon my worst enemy. I started to focus on a natural and healthy lifestyle for the ones that are still here walking this earth. I want to build a life for my son that focuses on thriving in a relationship between us and nature. So, I started my homesteading journey - gardening and canning, sourdough, chickens, pigs, and hopefully one day being self-sufficient on our 10 acres in Seabeck. In doing this I made Beeswax Food Wraps because I am trying to be more conscientious of plastics use. Well the way my brain works now is wild and I hyper focus - and squirrel all at the same time. I was learning about cooking using tallow, and well those food wraps use beeswax and jojoba oil. What else could I make using those ingredients. Study… study… study… BOOM. I was always wanting to learn to make my own natural skincare, and well, I have in the past. This led me to whipped tallow, and my friends unknowingly (knowingly) became the guinea pigs… and then my biggest cheerleaders.
